A College Degree in Property Management?

To all those of you who think that a monkey can be trained to manage real estate, think again!

No joke, folks … 7, count them … 7 universities actually consider residential property management as such a multi-faceted and complicated activity that that they offer a 4 year BACHELOR OF SCIENCE degree in it:

  • University of Georgia (Athens, GA)
  • Ball State University (Muncie, IN)
  • St Augustine University (Raleigh, NC)
  • Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA)
  • Brigham Young University (Provo, UT)
  • Virginia Polytech University (Blacksburg, VA)
  • University of Wisconsin (Menomonie, WI)

Now mind you, these are not mere “PAY PER DIPLOMA” bastions of higher learning that also offer degrees in Underwater Basket Weaving, Music Appreciation for the Deaf and the like.

These are recognized institutions of advanced study that have recognized a valid need for serious education, instruction, testing, final exams and thesis writing to best prepare a person for the challenging world of rental management.

Sure, you can do it yourself, no question of that. But can you do it WELL yourselt without any instruction and preparation? Not likely!

So ATTENTION to those readers longing to do what Red Roof Rentals does … even if you are not in a position to spend the time and tuition to obtain a 4 year degree in Property Management, attend every seminar, join your local “housing association” and take every on-line class having ANYTHING to do with property management that you can … then go to work for an established management company for a few years and LEARN ALL YOU CAN on the job.

Whether you take college classes to earn a management degree OR do what I recommended in the paragraph above, either way it will take you at least 4 YEARS to fully learn what it will take for you to be a SUCCESSFUL PROPERTY MANAGER.

Red Roof has over 40 years experience in property management… and that’s hard to beat!
